The Fruits in MonaVie

The Fruits in MonaVie

MonaVie has created a treasure trove of blended fruit juices in its products. These fruits are collected from the four corners of the earth, and each is selected for a reason. MonaVie Original has 19 different fruits. MonaVie Active, Pulse, E , Kosher and the soon to be released (m)mun may have a few different fruits.

With the policy of balance, variety, moderation in mind let us take a look at some of the other fruits aside from the crown jewel of acai and see what they have to offer.

Acerola cherry

These beautiful red cherries have plenty of antioxidants and have possibly the highest vitamin C content of any fruit. They are also rich in protein and mineral salts especially, iron, phosphorus and calcium and also have marked anti-fungal activity

Apricot

The apricot has long been known for its carotene levels and for helping with anaemia, liver problems, constipation and earache. Apricots are rich in vitamins A, B2, B3 and C.

Aronia

The aronia berry is also sometimes known as chokeberry. It has 3 times the level of antioxidants as blueberries and is high in vitamin C. It is considered one of the ‘superberries’.

Banana

The banana tree is actually a huge herb. Bananas are packed with potassium and are a rich source of vitamin B6

Bilberry

The bilberry has long been used in herbal remedies for lowering blood sugar levels. They were eaten by soldiers in WWII to improve night vision and adjusting quickly between light and dark conditions. Extracts of bilberry have been used in pharmaceutical preparations to treat diseases related to microcirculation. Bilberries are high in antioxidants. They have also been used for allergy relief.

Blueberry

Blueberries have a very high antioxidant level. They have been shown to be beneficial in boosting immunity, reducing heart risks, and assisting with a whole host of other problems. This is fairly obviously due to their high level of antioxidants, which is about 3 times lower than the acai berry.

Camu Camu berry

Camu Camu is also sometimes known as Rumberry. Like the acai berry it comes from the Amazon rainforest. There have been many reports of camu camu having a mood balancing effect, among other antioxidant benefits.
